The iPhone 4 meta-post

I'm planning too many iPhone 4 posts at the same time. It's unlikely they will all be published, so I'm condensing them into this giant post.

Comparison with iPhone 3GS
Maybe I'm biased, but I want to believe the iPhone 4 is the best iPhone ever. Apple itself claims the iPhone 4 is the biggest leap since the original iPhone. I think it has many improvements over the 3GS, which was only an incremental upgrade over the 3G.

    FaceTime
I've confirmed that FaceTime calls are free. It's quite smart - it rotates automatically, even upside down! However, here are my suggestions:
    • Enable the video light
    • Enable audio only calls - this is like free phone calls/Skype
    • If you call someone who isn't on WiFi, you aren't told that the person isn't on, you just keep trying to connect. There should be a way to tell you "person not online" or something.

    More nice touches:
    1. Use as a scanner. I took a picture of an A4 document and was able to read the text in the picture. Of course, this depends on the size of the text. I wonder what the critical camera resolution is to do this.
    2. They've somehow incorporated a universal zoom feature for those who can't see small text. (enable it in accessibility options)
    3. You can add someone's address from Maps, instead of typing it in.

      Suggestions
      • Hide keyboard in Messages
      • Allow users to change SMS and email ringtones already, it's quite irritating having 2 iPhones with the same email tone
