Old Photos

I'm not sure if
  • Cameras have improved
  • Old cameras were lousy
  • It's just my old cameras that were lousy
  • I've become more observant of details,
But, looking back at my old photos, I now see they're full of distortions and artifacts.

This photo was taken in Perth in 2001, and now I can see there's chromatic aberration at the edges, and it's not very sharp.

This has even worse chromatic aberration, and the corners are distorted and out of focus.

These are possibly because the camera used was a Sony DCR-TRV30E, which is actually a miniDV video camera. Also, I may have been using a Blaupunkt wide converter lens (can't remember the specifics).
