This might be obvious, but I just noticed that adding adjectives makes products sound more sophisticated and exclusive:
salt -> sea salt (where else do you expect salt to come from?)
plastic -> thermoplastic
When it comes to food, there are some general words that can be used: "natural", "handmade", "fresh" etc.
