HTC Magic

I got a HTC Magic about a month ago since my phone contract expired. My previous phone was a Nokia 6120 classic. When getting a new phone I thought, "Hmm, it would be nice to keep providing 3G internet access to my MacBook Pro by Bluetooth. Maybe I should get a phone with better battery life, or extra batteries. I should try and get one that doesn't let you use 2G data, so I don't have to keep worrying about getting slapped with the $1/MB roaming rate. I wonder if you can serve Internet access over WiFi (e.g. Internet <3G> phone <WiFi> Wii). What's the point of having WiFi on a phone if it's only to access the Internet? Phone browsers are so hard to use anyway. I think GPS would be nice also." Sadly, I didn't do enough research before buying.

Anyway, here are the stats for the HTC Magic (off the back of the box)
528 MHz, 512 MB ROM, 288 MB RAM
113 by 55.56 by 13.65 mm
116g with battery
HSPA/WCDMA 900/2100 MHz
Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 MHz (3.5G with 7.2Mbps download)
GPS, Bluetooth 2.0, 802.11b/g
3.2 MP camera with autofocus, but no flash
1340mAh battery
